Our strategy is to build enterprises from the ground up: shaping the concept, designing the business plan, securing funding, assembling the teams, and guiding operations until each venture is ready to stand on its own. This end-to-end approach allows us to create solutions that are commercially viable and systemic in the change they deliver.
We apply this model across areas such as food, advisory, health, education, finance, and more, each one a building block of resilient communities and inclusive growth, on our journey to ensure that what we build is sustainable, scalable, and rooted in real-world needs.

But we do not set out to build everything ourselves. Instead, we collaborate with leading partners, including TRAC in Rwanda for connectivity, EmagineNet for financial inclusion, and Hydrosun for water solutions. Billions of people around the world remain offline, cut off from the opportunities that digital access creates. Without reliable connectivity, access to finance, healthcare, education, food systems, and clean water is fragmented, and the potential for inclusive growth is held back.
Connecting Communities (CC) was created to close this gap. Its purpose is simple but transformative: to provide one-stop access to essential services by creating a last-mile ecosystem that brings technology and opportunity directly to the people who need it most.
At the heart of CC is InfraTech, which makes everything else possible. Connectivity is the enabler, the infrastructure that unlocks access to the tools and services people already have the skills and ambition to use. Without it, the other verticals remain out of reach. With it, they become a seamless ecosystem.
Around this core system, we bring together A.K.A.’s individual businesses into a single point of access. FinTech provides financial tools that allow farmers to receive digital payments. AgriTech helps farmers improve productivity and market access, producing sustainable nutrition that, alongside WashTech’s safe water and sanitation, strengthens health. HealthTech connects people with care and preventive solutions, while EdTech ensures that knowledge and training are available to unlock new opportunities. Together, these services are not isolated interventions but a system where each supports the other, multiplying impact across the community.
Our first rollout, Connecting Communities Africa (CCA), launches in Rwanda, with expansion planned in Uganda and Tanzania to reach more than three million people by 2030. While CC is currently focused on this region, it demonstrates a global model of how technology, services, and people can come together.
We believe that when people have confidence and hope, they change society. Our role is not to save communities, but to provide the tools, resources, and access they need to reach their full potential. CC is the story of how the individual businesses under A.K.A. come together to create something greater than the sum of their parts. In this ecosystem, connection is just the beginning.
